It all started when…

GENERAL POLICIES

Proof of vax or negative Covid tests are no longer required. Masks encouraged but not required.

No refunds or exchanges on tickets (may vary by presenter)

No smoking or vaping in the venue - large back patio with specific smoking section where guests can smoke

Absolutely no fighting, stealing, or being rude to guests or staff

No cameras or photography for live theatre

ARE THE SHOWS INSIDE OR OUTSIDE?

During winter months, all events are indoors. Warmer months have both indoor and outdoor events.

Check your event details to be sure.

For inside shows you do NOT have to bring your own chair. We got you.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS?

Doors open generally 30 minutes before showtimes. Please check our calendar for showtimes.

DO YOU HAVE A BOX OFFICE?

Tickets are available in advance ONLINE ONLY by clicking on the calendar event. If tickets are not sold out, the Box Office will open 30 minutes before the show. Box office will accept cash or credit.

DOES THE BLACK BOX SERVE FOOD?

We do not serve food BUT our onsite food truck You Wanna Pizza Me does! They are located across the parking lot and you should check their schedule and menu on the day of the show to see if they will be open. See more at youwannapizzamekc.com

DO WE SERVE DRINKS?

Yes! We have a well-stocked bar open for most events. Cash or card accepted.
Please do not bring in outside drinks.

WHAT TIME DOES THE SHOW START?

This depends on the show, style of entertainment, the number of opening acts, and what else is happening at The Black Box that night. We list the time that the SHOW STARTS and doors open 30 minutes before that.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A SHOW IS SOLD OUT?

To be guaranteed a seat we recommend that you purchase your tickets in advance.

WHERE CAN I GET TICKETS TO SHOWS AT THE BLACK BOX?

Tickets can be reserved online. A link to purchase tickets for any show taking place at The Black Box can be found on our calendar.

All tickets are will call and seating is general admission unless otherwise noted. There are NO physical tickets.

DO YOU HAVE A LOST AND FOUND?

You can message us at 816-533-5565 to inquire about recovered items. The Black Box is not responsible for items lost or stolen at The Black Box. If it is valuable to you, it is probably safer at home.

ARE YOU HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE?

Our venue is wheelchair accessible. All entryways and bathroom are one level. We have two handicap accessible parking spots in front of the building.

WHERE DO I PARK?

The Black Box has a dedicated parking lot but it does tend to fill up. Street parking is available on St. Louis or Union, all very close.
